Q: Where does the trip begin?
A: Unless otherwise stated, all trips begin in downtown San Francisco, CA. Some trips may have other pick-up spots in the Bay Area.

Q: What is included in OPOA trips?
A: Check the details of each individual trip! Most offer domestic ground transportation, meals, lodging, any necessary equipment, and permits.

Q: Does the price include airfare?
A: OPOA prices do not include airfare.
Q: I see a trip I like, but I don’t know whether it's for Japanese speakers or English speakers.
A: All OPOA trips are open to anyone. Guides speak both English and Japanese.

Q: My club/family wants to sign up for one of your trips, but the dates don't quite work for us.
A: Given enough time to make the necessary arrangements, and of course permit availability, most of our trips can be organized for your group on dates that work for you. Please e-mail us with the trip, size of your group, and the time you want to go.

Q: Do I need experience with outdoor sports or adventure travel to go on your trips?
A: We offer a wide range of activities. If prior experience is necessary or recommended, we will say so in the Trip Description.


Q: I have a group of 8 people, but there are ten spaces on the trip. My friends and I would prefer not to have two strangers along with us.
A: We are willing to negotiate closing trips off at a lower-than-capacity number.

Q: I am a vegetarian.  Will I be starving or eating boring food?
A: OPOA is happy to design healthy, delicious meal plans for any needs or preferences you may have!  Just let us know what you want.
